How to list the best rated apps of any category

One query, two thresholds and a sort order: a fair best-rated list for any Google Play category.

The query

curl -H "X-API-Key: $API_KEY" \
  "https://apksushi.com/api/v1/search?category=EDUCATION&min_score=4.5&min_ratings=10000&sort=score"

Choosing the thresholds

• For big categories like games or tools, start at 100,000 ratings.
• For niche categories like medical or libraries, 1,000 ratings may be enough.
• Raise min_score until the list has the length you want.

Ties

Many apps share a score of 4.8 or 4.9. Sort by ratings instead of score to put the most voted first among them.
